A heavy support dreadnought used by the Blades of Crihna.
The Harkney is a heavy support dreadnought used by the Blades of Crihna pirates. Like most Crihna mecha, it’s built from repurposed civilian technology- in this case, a freighting towboat. Despite its fearsome appearance the Harkney is relatively fragile. Thanks to its long range firepower, though, this should rarely be a problem.
The Harkney’s main weapon is a 500mm roundshot cannon. This gun is capable of ripping most battroids in half with a single volley, and those it doesn’t destroy outright will likely be crippled. Other weapons include an intercept laser, a particle cannon, eight Hurricane missiles, sixteen Clever Parrot missiles, and thirty two Incendiary missiles.
This mecha is protected by a class 4 ECM system. Although this is better than the ECM typically found on pirate mecha, it does little to offset the Harkney’s poor maneuverability and unimpressive speed. Fire control is provided by a class 2 targeting computer dubbed “The White Whale”.
Its typical role in battle will be to sit back and provide fire support so the lighter pirate mecha can close with the enemy. Its missiles are capable of disabling a lance of convoy guards quickly, while its main cannon can easily immobilize a target freighter.
