Guides:Mecha Repair[]

First off you need the Mecha Repair skill. For your repairs to yield decent results you will need about 4 points in the skill.

Secondly, you need a reasonable Craft and Ego stat (at least 10) as this will give you more Mental Points (more on this later) and repair results.

Thirdly, you will need "Repair Fuel". This can be bought from most shops in the form of an item, like the "Mecha Repair Kit" -- capable of repairing 3,000 DP of damage and more than enough for you. Buy 2 of them and put one in your mecha.

The use of Mecha Repair will quickly drain your Mental Points making it impossible for you to continue. You could just rest a few hours or invest ranks in the Concentration skill. Once you get around the 5 rank mark (start off at around 3 as frequent repair jobs will do the rest) you should be able to repair most non critical damage to a mecha.

The best part is you get a decent amount of XP from it.

BONUS FEATURE: If you have 5 ranks or more in Mecha Repair then you are eligible to buy the Tech Vulture feat which means that at the end of a battle that awards salvage you have the opportunity to make a Mecha Repair roll to basically cut off a part of an enemy Mecha and take it home with you. Every single component except the Body is affected by this and it really makes Mecha Engineering quite fun.

I for one have a modified Corsair with 4 legs, 2 arms, mounting points instead of hands (just as light, can hold movement systems as well), 2 swords, 2 plasma rifles, 1 Phase Cannon (yeah baby!), 2 heavy missile launchers (As in Garajiaja) and a Flame Cannon.

Trust me. Mecha Engineering is one of (if not) the best skills in the game!
